Windthorst fire investigators believe it was a lightning strike from a storm over Archer County that sparked a billowing fire around 7:25 this evening.

It happened about 5- miles south of Windthorst, off 281.

An oil tank in a battery was struck so hard it was thrown over a barbed wire fence.
No one was injured, and the fire was out in about 15- minutes.

While the fire was burning, temperatures dropped outside possibly around  15- degrees almost instantly as the cold front pushed through.
