The Holiday Inn on Central Freeway is robbed overnight -- and Wichita Falls Police are searching for the suspect.

Police say just after one this morning -- a man walked into the hotel carrying what is described as a metal stick or pipe -- and demanded money from the clerk at the front desk.

Sergeant Harold McClure with the Wichita Falls Police Department says the man fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

McClure says witnesses saw the man run toward the Wichita River.

Police searched the Lucy Park area near the river but were unable to locate the man.

The suspect is described as a black male -- about 5 feet 8 inches tall -- and was wearing a light colored trench coat, black pants, and possibly used a t-shirt as a mask.

We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
