The city has been trying to raise money for a park since 2008, but they are still more than 300- thousand- dollars short.
That's why the Kellison family has stepped in.
Lucus Kellison says he would love to see a park built before his two kids are too old to enjoy it.
“It would be fun to be able to go to the park and play with the kids and not have to go to Wichita or Iowa Park or anywhere else,” says Kellison.
Kellison has started fundraisng online and is selling shirts to help raise the money for the park.
There is no deadline for the money but the city will apply for a matching funds grant at the end of August and Kellison says it would easier to have the 400 thousand dollars raised by then.
