"The information we got from the fire department from when they first got here it looks like the fire may have started on the south side possibly in the ceiling area," said Lt Ray Schultz, from the Wichita County Sheriff's Office

---Update ---

A fire Thursday afternoon in Iowa Park appears to have destroyed a home on the west side of the city near the high school.

The fire was on Harley Court about 3:15 Thursday afternoon when firefighters arrived they said there was smoke and flames in the attic.

Mutual aid was called out from Electra and Wichita Falls.

Fire Chief Randy Fulbright says a woman was asleep inside when the fire started. Her father came to the home, saw smoke coming from the vents, and got the woman outside of the house.

It appears the home may be a total loss.
