The holidays can be a painful time for some, but a group of home health nurses wanted to make sure all their patients have something to smile about.

For the second year in a row, Specialty Nurses Home Healthcare nurses delivered thanksgiving meals to their patients who don't have a place to go this holiday.

The nurses pitched in and whipped up a traditional turkey meal complete with stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

They hand delivered those meals to some of their patients today.

Tammie Venable, Specialty Nurses administrative assistant, says, "There are some of our patients who our nurses are the only people that actually come and brighten their day. So when we take meals to them, this is just one more way we can try to brighten their day and become somebody special in their lives."

The nurses delivered more than 40 meals to area seniors.
