Several organizations are banding together to help homeless and needy veterans.

Project Jody, the Veterans Commission and American Legion Post 202 are hosting the first public Veterans Stand Down.

Veterans will get breakfast and lunch and volunteers pick up those needing transportation.

Dentists, doctors, and lawyers will be on hand to help them with whatever they need.

Clothes, blankets, boots, and mattresses will also be handed out.

The stand down is tomorrow at American Legion Post 202 at 1101 E. Scott St.

It starts at 7 in the morning and lasts until 4 tomorrow night.

Another way to pay tribute to our vets is to attend the annual Veteran's Day Parade Saturday, organized by the North Texas Veterans Council.

It starts at 11 a.m. and will go down Indiana and Scott Streets.
