A Honky Tonk legend, who spent his early days playing in various venues and on TV in Wichita Falls gets a special tribute.
A proclamation Thursday, honored Buck White.
He earned a place in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame for his spin on Country, Blue Grass and Gospel music.
He also received a Grammy for the album Salt of the Earth.
White says he is humbled by the recognition from the city of Wichita Falls.
“You know you work and work and play for years and years and finally something like this comes along and it gives you a lift,” said Buck White.
The Museum of North Texas' Honky Tonk exhibit now has many of White's personal items, like old records and photographs on display.
