Hotter'N Hell Riders Get a Taste of Life on Base

- ers who were not doing the hundred mile endurance ride were able to ride through Sheppard Air Force Base.

First riders rode through the missile road gate entrance and pedaled to an area filled with air force planes and fighter jets.

There were pilots available to answer questions, encourage riders, and even take pictures with the planes for them.

On their way out of the base they could stop at a rest stop to get snacks and drinks and then were cheered on by hundreds of air force trainees.

Sheppard officials say it's important for the airmen to cheer on the riders because wichita falls' residents cheer on the base all year long.

“The community does so much for us, they support us all year long and this huge event that the community puts on, it's important for us to be involved and support and to help out and make the race as great as we can,” says George Woodward with the Public Affairs Office.
