Watermelons took over the market for the annual Watermelon Festival.
The event is hosted by downtown Wichita Falls Development and Charlie-Thornberry farmers.
Normally the downtown development board members are the ones who cut the slices of watermelon and work the different events.
But this year, ladies with Junior League did all of the cutting.
They also worked as judges for the watermelon spitting contest.
It's something they say gives them a great opportunity to give back to the community.
"I think it's wonderful. I mean that's part of what junior league and bravo is for, I mean we're hear to serve the community and the fact that we're bringing attention to the farmer's market," Junior League sponsor Candace Pschoff says.
This was the third year for the festival.
