Midwestern State University has hundreds of new alumni as those students took the stage and turned their Tassles.

Our beloved former associate producer Erin Minihan was one of the 635 students who received their degrees this morning.

Those included both masters and bachelor degrees.

31st District Senator Kel Seliger gave the commencement speech and made sure that the graduates' big day was nothing short of special, as he encouraged students to continue doing what they love.

“Do something you love. But quite frankly why would you do anything else?  Graduating today, as members of what has been called the educated class of citizens of the united states, you have, well not a unique preparation, a special one. You have worked hard to get here.," says Senator Seliger.

Saturday's commencement was one of the last for MSU President Dr. Jesse Rogers.

He announced Friday he plans to leave the university in August 2015, or when his predecessor has taken office.
