The call came in around 9:30 a.m. Monday when the residents of the house came out and found the body under their pick up which was parked under the carport. Sergeant John Spragins says the body is that of 61-year-old Catherine Prine of Wichita Falls.
Sergeant Spragins says since they know very little about what happened, they have to treat the case like a homicide for now.
"On these scenes we're gonna treat, every scene just like it was a murder, so they will go through all the steps of photographing and picking up evidence, video taping everything until we have determination that it's something other than a murder," explained Spragins.
Records show Catherine Prine was arrested and charged twice in December, as late as Christmas Day, in fact, on charges of trespassing and public intoxication.
She was arrested December 11th in Wichita Falls on a charge of burglary of a habitation. A resident on Warford reported his front door had been kicked in and items stolen. Police say they found the items hidden in a home next door, and arrested Prine and two men in the home.
Police say Prine's body will be sent to the Tarrant County medical examiner and should have a cause of death within 24 to 48 hours. We will bring you more information as it gets released.
