That's after he pleaded guilty for the capital murder of an Allred inmate in 2011.
Fifty-year-old Cary Lee Bailey was convicted of capital murder for strangling his Allred cellmate to death.
He's sentenced to 35 additional years in prison for the death of 43-year-old Douglass Bridewell in April 2011 at Allred.
Prison personnel found Bridewell unconscious on the floor of his cell and attempted to revive him.
He was later pronounced dead in the prison infirmary.
Bridewell was serving life for aggravated sexual assault in Dallas County.
Bailey was sentenced to life for the stabbing death of a fellow inmate in Hood County in 1991 during an argument over a loud television.
His new 35 year sentence will not start until he completes his life sentence for that conviction.
