Investigators: Deadly Bus Crash in Irving Caused by Driver Error

Driver error is what investigators say caused a deadly bus crash in Irving.

Three people died from their injuries caused by the april 11th crash.

44 passengers... all senior citizens... suffered a range of injuries.

DPS investigators say the driver, 65- year old Loyd Rieve

failed to maintain his lane before careening off the highway and striking a concrete barrier.

rieve suffered serious injures, but survived.

The chartered bus was taking senior citizens to a casino in Oklahoma.

This is Rieve's second deadly incident while driving a charter bus.

Back in 1998, he was driving for another bus company when he struck and killed a man.

However, a grand jury declined to indict him.
