Iowa Park city leaders approve a few changes throughout the city

IOWA PARK - Iowa Park city leaders unanimously voted on a 50-thousand dollar budget to make improvements to the pool deck at the municipal pool and spray park.

City Manager, Jerry Flemming said the 50- thousand dollar improvements would be easier for pool lovers to walk on and allow water to flow to a drainage system instead of back in the pool

Also on the agenda was 200- thousand dollars set aside for a new animal facility.

Flemming said, "What we're looking at is 16 kennels, so going from 3 to 16, which is a major expansion of our facilities, however, we had outgrown our facility a long time ago."

He added that the animal shelter project should be underway by December and then be complete by early in the new year.

City leaders also approved, by a unanimous vote, to change four yield signs to four stop signs where Mary Drive crosses Douglas Drive and Karen Lane.

Neighbors in that area should see those signs changed by the end of this week.
