Iowa Park,TX. - Iowa Park residents said goodbye today too two men they say are very special.
Ed Hefti and Greg Miller have led the Iowa Park High School band for a combined total of 60 years.
Current and past students, Iowa Park school faculty members and community members came out to say their goodbyes, share, memories and wish Mr. Hefti and Mr. Miller good luck in their next adventures.
They celebrated with cake, snacks and gathered some yearbooks so everyone could take a walk down memory lane.
Carlee Creswell is going to be a senior next year she says she can't picture her final year without her teachers, because they both have helped her through difficult times in her life.
"Just the fact that they're really understanding, and if your going through something and you just need to take a break, you can explain it to them and they will completely understand, and a lot of other teachers, they're not like that," says Creswell.
Even though they are leaving both men have helped create a legacy for Iowa Park.
Getting the band 90 "one ratings" while competing in UIL concert and sight reading competitions.
