A Jacksboro city official is out on bond Tuesday evening after being charged with theft.

According to an arrest affidavit, Texas Rangers began investigating 34-year-old Erika Hobson last month.

The affidavit states over the last three and half years, Hobson paid herself more than $113,000 over her annual salary.

Hobson is the finance director for the city of Jacksboro and was the only person in charge of entering employee payroll information.

The affidavit states Hobson confessed to inflating her paychecks.

She is charged with theft by a public servant over $100,000 but less than $200,000.
