JJ Watt starts fundraiser to help hurricane victims

NFL player J.J. Watt has started a fundraiser to help with flood recovery in Texas.

Watt and his Houston Texans teammates are all safe after escaping Hurricane Harvey.

They re-routed to Dallas after their game and will travel back to Houston when it's safe.

Watt said in a video posted to his twitter account that it's hard to watch the devastation in Houston.

"It's very difficult you know, for guys especially guys who have young kids and family members back there. It's very tough. But then as a city as a whole I mean we're very imbedded in our community. The guys are very imbedded in the community and we all care so much about the city of Houston and so to see such destruction happening and not be able to do anything about it you feel kind of helpless. We obviously wish we could get back there but the least we could do was start a fundraiser up and see if we could raise some money so that once we can start these relief efforts we kind of have a jumpstart," said J.J. Watt, Houston Texans Defensive End.

At last check the fundraiser has already generated more the $278,000.
