A teenager, who escaped from the North Texas State Hospital in Vernon more than a year ago, has been sentenced to prison.

In September 2012, Jonathan Torrez, who was 17 at the time, escaped from the North Texas State Hospital.

One month later, he was arrested at his mother's house in Sweetwater, Texas.

In December 2012, he pleaded guilty to the escape charge and received 4 years probation.

But earlier this week, 46th District Court Judge Dan Mike Bird revoked Torrez's probation and sentenced Torrez to 3 years in prison.
