On Wednesday a Chick-Fil-A spokesman said they had a "record setting day" in response to "Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day."
But today it was gay rights activists turn to take a stand.
Carly McGehee is a Dallas political activist who came up with the idea to hold a "Kiss-In" at all Chick-Fil-A restaurants nationwide.
In Lawton the restaurant had many customers and stayed consistently busy throughout the lunch hour.
But when it came to those taking a stand for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation the "Kiss-In" was kiss-less.
Chick-Fil-A is where Stacey Tate and her son decided to have lunch Friday, but her sister didn't think it was a good idea.
"I called my sister and told her to come and she said, 'well good luck fighting all the Christians,'" Tate said.
But Christians weren't the group of people expected to be seen in full force at the restaurant, gay rights activists and supports of same-sex marriage were.
Those groups planned on holding a nationwide "Kiss-In" at all Chick-Fil-A restaurants to demonstrate their views on marriage equality, but when it came to the restaurant in Lawton "kisses" were no where to be seen.
"There is nobody out here, if you look at opposition they are basically like they don't support Chick-Fil-A, they are not going to come and I think that is the end of it " West Goewey said.
Another customer had a different conclusion to the "kiss-in" no shows.
"Maybe people in Lawton have more of a level head on there shoulders," Dee Davis, a resident from Lawton said.
Because Davis said after all, this issue isn't about who you kiss.
"This has nothing to do with being gay or not being gay its a matter of free speech," he said.
And though we didn't see any protesters in Lawton, doesn't mean they weren't protesting around the nation.
On McGehee's Facebook page more then 14 thousand people said they would be attending today's protest.
