Several hundred Wichita Falls elementary students received a welcomed surprise this morning before their Christmas break begins.
Each students at Alamo Elementary visited with Santa this morning. After telling him what they wanted for Christmas, Santa then gave each a gift bag. That gift back was made possible through members of the University Kiwanis.
Sharon Bankhead of the University Kiwanis Club said, "They all get a pair of shoes, socks, hygiene kit, candy, some goodies. A book. We want to make sure they get those books in their hands, too, so some good stuff."
University Kiwanis Club members also gave gift bags this morning to students at Sam Houston and Washington-Jackson elementary schools. Overall, members say about 2-thousand shoes were given out today.
