According to AAA, gas prices are down 15 cents a gallon compared to this time last year.
Most drivers are paying the lowest they have for gas in early August since 2010.
Meaning, this weekend is expected to be the busiest Labor Day travel weekend since 2008's great recession.
We spoke with people in Wichita Falls today as they filled up at the pump for their Labor Day travels.
They say they're pleased at the low prices, as they'll allow them to save the extra money they would spend on gas for their trip.
"It worked out real good this weekend because this is my sister in law's car and our car was in the shop. So, her little car gets about 38 miles a gallon," Pat Patillo from Abiline says.
"Relief in the pocket book, let's you save a little bit for something else," Toby Saenz from Wichita Falls says.
Gas prices started falling in July and are expected to keep sliding through November.
