A Lawton teen is shot during an attempted robbery while walking home from a convenience store over the weekend.

Captain Craig Ackard with the Lawton Police Department says at about 1:30 Saturday morning, a 15 year old girl and her two friends were on their her way home from the EZ-GO Convenience Store on Northwest 67th when two men approached them on the 6200 block of Euclid and demanded everything they had.

Ackard says the girls took off running and that's one of the suspects fired one shot, striking the 15 year old girl in the thigh.

The girl was later taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital. Captain Ackard says her injury is non-life threatening. The case is still under investigation.
