Tuesday morning, city councilors approved an ordinance waiver that would allow Dickey Oil Field Services on Highway 79 South to buy city water even though they are outside the city limits.
Dickey Oil Field Services was getting their water from the Reilly Road Fill Station, but now that the fill station is being monitored with a pay station they are not able to do so.
The business will pay for the connection line to one of the city's existing lines near by.
Director of Public Works Russell Schreiber says he expects the business to use less water than the average household because they do not use it in manufacturing, just for toilets and sinks.
