If you're looking for a good way to beat the heat this weekend, the Charlie-Thornberry Farmer's Association is providing a way you can do just that.
The first ever Watermelon Fest is tomorrow at the Downtown Wichita Falls Farmer's Market at 8th and Ohio.
There will be all kinds of contests to take part in or watch, including watermelon seed spitting, sidewalk chalk mural drawing, pie eating, and awards for the biggest watermelon.
There will also be vendors and other children's activities.
    It's open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it's free to the public.
