Local Veterans Get Send-off for Honor Flight

- Two local World War II veterans are embarking on a journey which should bring a flood of memories, both good and bad, of old comrades and courageous actions.

And just like when they went off to war, they got a rousing sendoff from their home town; this time from hundreds of WFISD students.

Now thanks to the Honor Flight Network they're on their way to see the World War II Memorial, recognizing all they and others of the greatest generation did for their country.

The organization sends the veterans on an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to see the WWII Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and other memorials.

These two veterans will leave as part of "Honor Flight DFW" tomorrow.
