Making the Grade: Christy Nash Named Hirschi High School Principal

The hallways at Hirschi High School are busy once again with students making their way to class.

While this marks a new beginning for students, it is also a new beginning for one key member of

the school's administration.

Christy Nash is the school's new principal. She is no stranger at Hirschi, though. Before spending the

last couple of years in district administration, she previously worked at the high school for eleven years as a teacher.

"I was at central administration for the last two years as director of federal programs and now I'm back here at Hirschi as principal."

She is excited to be back at Hirschi which is one of less than two hundred schools in the state that are International Baccalaureate Schools.

"The International Baccalaureate offers a world perspective. A global view of education. We have teachers that have been specially trained to

offer that education and we are really proud to offer that to our community."

Nash is ready for a successful school year and is looking forward to building relationships with students.

"I really enjoy being back around the kids. That was one thing I really did miss being at central administration is that you don't have the daily

contact with kids. My main goal is to take care of the kids that are here. I mean we just really want to make sure that we are providing a solid

education that transitions them for their next stage of life."

And for students at Hirschi High School, that transition seems more promising than ever before
