Wichita Falls police say fingerprints reveal Shaeed Abdul Muhammad is really 39-year-old Phillip Wayne Walker.
An arrest affidavit states Walker is the man responsible for an online post on Craigslist advertising blank checks for sell for $100 each.
The affidavit states the Craigslist post listed Walker's phone number and other information that led to Walker's girlfriend, Temetra Mallet.
Walker and Mallett were suspects in the theft of a man's Red River Shuttle Express checks.
The affidavit states the man hired Walker and Mallett to do general cleaning before the checks were stolen.
It goes on to say the investigation led to another person who witnessed Walker recruiting others to pass the stolen checks at a local Wichita Falls business.
According to the affidavit, Walker would provide the checks, and travel with the people for a percentage of the profits.
Police believe up to a dozen or so people were involved, at least 8 have been charged so far.
Several of those are now indicted on charges related to forgery and organized criminal activity.
Walker was arrested Monday morning at a home in the 5200 block of Tower Drive.
Officers say he got into a fight with a 34- year- old woman there, and the woman says she was punched several times, and was cut on her arm with a knife.
Walker's charges include online impersonation out of Travis County, and engaging in organized criminal activity - forgery out of Wichita County.
He's also wanted for fraudulent use of identifying information and possession of a counterfeit payment instrument out of Polk County, Florida.
Walker's bonds total at least $90,000, and Wichita Falls police say additional charges could be pending.
