Police respond to reports of gunfire early Tuesday morning, and a man is now behind bars after police say they found him hiding in a home with a gun.

According to jail records, 31-year-old Orinthus Haddock is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He is also facing drug charges.

Police were called to the 1800 block of 8th Street around 6:30 this morning near Luby's.

When they arrived they saw two men running into an apartment. Authorities went inside the home and say they found Haddock hiding in a closet holding a handgun.

They also said they found marijuana in the home. Police say they were unable determine if shots had been fired, or where, but Haddock was taken into custody for the firearm charge.
