A man put on probation last year for forging checks of his step-grandfather is now sentenced for forging more than a dozen checks stolen from his stepfather while he was on probation.

Twenty-two year-old Jesse Ray Hail was found guilty on 10 counts of forgery and was sentenced to six years in prison and 12 months state jail.

The sentences will run concurrently.

Officers say Hail stole a book of checks and cashed 19 of them totaling more than $5000.

Hail is also ordered to pay $11-thousand dollars in restitution for forging checks of his step-grandfather.
