A man convicted of child endangerment was assigned state jail time after violating the terms of his deferred probated sentence.
Jordan Turner was arrested in 2015 after police found two toddlers alone near Archer City Hwy.
Officials said a maintenance worker at the Country Park Apartments on Professional Dr. found a 3-year-old and 11-month old headed toward Hwy. 79, and took them to the complex office.
The mother of the children told police Turner was suppose to be watching her kids but that she saw him walking through the complex without her children, holding a Wal-Mart bag.
Police said Turner told them he had gone to the laundry room to do laundry and when he returned to the apartment, the kids were gone.
Police said the mother told them she found no evidence Turner had done any laundry and surveillance video from the Wal-Mart showed Turner in the store, stealing a phone charger.
Authorities also said he violated the terms of his probation by carrying a weapon and drugs.
Turner's punishment is 9 months in state jail.
