A routine traffic stops ends with a man being hospitalized in Wichita Falls.
Police say just before 2 Friday morning, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. Lt. David Ferguson with the Wichita Falls Police Department says the driver stopped at an apartment complex on Ridgeway Drive off Maurine Street, and took off on foot.
Authorities say the 39-year-old driver was apprehended and put in handcuffs. At that time, officers say the man began having medical problems and CPR was performed until an ambulance could arrive.
Ferguson says the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He says he is now in ICU, but is stable.
Ferguson says the man may have swallowed something, but the incident is still under investigation.
