Wichita Falls Police say a 46-year old man is killed trying to cross Central Freeway this morning.
It happened around 6:30 at Southbound Central Freeway near the Airport Road exit ramp. Police say James Jackson walked in front of a truck trying to exit onto Airport and was killed.
"It doesn't appear to be anything criminal at this point. That's just preliminary, but it's still very early on in the investigation at this point," said Sergeant John Spragins of the WFPD.
Police say the driver of the pickup, a 33-year-old man, was arrested at the scene for driving with an invalid driver's license. But officials say he is not expected to be charged with anything related to the crash.
In 2012 there were 6 traffic fatalities in Wichita Falls. Last year there were 10 traffic fatalities.
In the first 2 weeks of January, Wichita Falls Police say there have already been 4 traffic fatalities.
