Twenty-two year-old Russo Williams was found guilty of that charge.
He was sentenced to seven years of prison, but that was suspended for five years probation.
Police were initially called to the 11-hundred block of Harlan earlier this year to check the welfare of a two-year-old girl with a bruised eye.
An arrest affidavit states Williams gave several different excuses as to why the girl had the injury.
Officers say the two-year-old told several people that Williams caused the injury.
