40-year-old Jerry Joe Garza has now been indicted for the murder of Monica Partida. He was named as a person of interest in the case in back in March.

Partida's body was found in her home on Britain on February 9th. An arrest affidavit states Garza tried to cover up his crime, while attempting to throw off investigators.

It says the suspect left a note saying Partida had ties to a San Angelo drug deal that had gone bad. Police say there was also a clear plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance next to Partida's body. They say a corner of the bag was bitten off.

Detectives tested the saliva remnants left on the bag and they say they were able to trace it back to Garza. His bonds total $3.5 million. That includes two unrelated charges of aggravated assault at the Las Vegas Club.

Garza was already in jail on those charges when the murder charges were filed.

A trial date has not been set at this time.
