Multiple volunteers around Wichita falls were recognized by the mayor for their hard work and dedication to volunteering.
Some of those recognized were National Civilian Community Corp Volunteers--- which volunteer their time to prepare taxes for the united way free tax program.
Dale Nelsen a nine years volunteer says "It's nice we like to think people are watching and seeing what we do but we never know and this puts a top on it".
North TX area United Way Volunteer say, "My family teaches me to value service especially in the community so serving is an obligation for me I don't consider it something I should do but something I have to do".
Mayor Barham also recognized many locals who have put in thousands of volunteer hours over the years.
Betty Jo Harvey has given 12 years of service and more than 22,380 hours.
Mark K. Carroll has given 13 years of service.
Dale Nelsen and Janice Waldon have given 9 years of service.
And Charles Harvey has volunteered for 5 years.
