Memorial Ceremony Held at Ft. Sill

- Family and friends gathered Monday at Fort Sill to honor those who lost their lives while fighting for our country.

"It really is symbolic of all the great women and men who have gone before who gave their lives and service to our nation, so that this could remain the greatest country on the earth," Fort Sill Commander Maj. General Mark McDonald said.

Judy Kelley's husband served, and they know how important it is to honor those great men and women who never made it home.

"We're kind of here to help remember them and any of the guys in our unit who had been lost, because a lot of them are our family and friends," Kelley said.
Many friends and loved ones walked through the cemetery to honor those who paid the ultimate price, and to remember those whose sacrifices will never be forgotten.

"A lot of the people that I see, the military widows and the veterans. The fact that they gave so much, that means a lot to me," Cadet Stephen Gilson said.
About 100 people made it out to Monday's remembrance ceremony on the post.
