The two men accused of the murder of a Wichita Falls grocery owner earlier this year appeared in 89th District Court for a pretrial hearing this morning..
Seventeen-year-old Clifton John Russell IV and 19-year-old Michael Shay Graves are charged with the capital murder of Muhammad Ahmad in January.
Neither Shay nor Graves seemed taken aback by the severity of their situation.
Judge Mark Price decided the trial for each will be specially set for sometime next year.
Price also approved the use of investigators for the case and granted permission for Graves to have two attorneys from the metroplex represent him.
Russell will be represented by Jim Rasmussen, chief public defender for Wichita County.
Surveillance video shows two men entering Mo's Grocery and one of them points what appears to be a gun at Muhammad Ahmad.
Ahmad was shot once in the chest during what police say was an attempted robbery.
He died later at the hospital.
Russell was arrested the day after the shooting, and Graves was arrested a day after that.
Police say Russell admitted to shooting Ahmad and that Graves admitted standing at the door as a lookout during the robbery.
Both Graves and Russell are in the Wichita County Jail on bonds totaling more than $1.5 million each.
