There's a very happy ending to report, after a child disappeared for about 5- hours this afternoon around Lamar Elementary in Wichita Falls'  Sunnyside area.

Sergeant John Spragins, with the Wichita Falls Police Department, says the 6- year old was reported missing on Best Boulevard by his mother around 4:35, about 3- hours after she last saw him.
Soon after, a command post was established as a Code Red went out, and as scores of police officers combed the area.

Then, around 6:40 this evening, the boy was found, and Chief Manuel Borrego spoke for everyone involved.

Chief Manuel Borrego, Wichita Falls Police Department:  "It's a great relief not only to the parents and the neighborhood, but to the police department.  You know, we do take these completely serious.  You never know what's going to happen to these kids.  You know, it turned out the way we hoped it would.  He just wandered off and somebody found him and took care of him until we could get him located."

Sergeant Spragins says the incident does still remain under investigation.
