Montague County has a new commissioner starting Wednesday.

First term commissioner James Gamblin turned in his resignation Wednesday to take a job in the oil business.

County Judge Tommie Sappington appointed Gamblin's wife, Stacy to serve out the remainder of the term which runs through 2014.

No one was sure when Montague County last had a woman on the commissioner's court. County leaders say Stacy Gamblin already has a knowledge of precinct 2 and its needs.
