More Remains of Former Sheppard Pilot Found in Iraq

- Air Force officials say additional remains of a former Sheppard pilot have been found in Iraq.

Major Troy Gilbert went through pilot training at Sheppard Air Force Base.

He died in November of 2006 when his F-16 crashed as he flew low to the ground, providing air support to troops who were being overrun by insurgents.

Insurgents took Major Gilbert's body and released two propaganda videos, the second one showing the body dug up from a grave, still wearing a flight suit.

Partial remains had previously been recovered and buried with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery in 2006.

Gilbert's family petitioned the Pentagon for a search for additional remains and that was granted in February of last year.

Officials say the five small bones found will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with the original remains.
