    Current MSU students...
"I'm a junior," Braden Wood, an MSU student, says.
    And alums...
"I was student body president in 1969-1970 when the gym opened-D.L. Ligon Coliseum," says Lance Spuriell, who's also an MSU basketball alum.
All packed Parkway Grill to cheer on the maroon and gold.
They all had one thing on their minds.
"Good defense.  Defense is what I think of when I think of the MSU Mustangs," Wood says.
"I think we've got the ingredients.  It's like a good cake your grandmother used to make.  You gotta have the right ingredients.  We've got the coaches, we've got the team, we've got the players.  It's our year.  Third time's a charm," Spuriell says.
And victory seemed in the making at the start.
MSU had an early 16-2 lead in the first half.
The Mustangs played hard, but the Western Washington Vikings ended up nabbing the "W" by just one point.
The final score was 64 to 63.
Jake Thomas, an MSU basketball fan, says, "I'm very proud of the team.  I think they had a great season.  They just played a bad game today.  That's all there is to it.  It's a shame, but if you're a good fan, you go on and live with it.  You go on and wait for next year."
"They are indicative of what this city stands for.  We will represent Wichita Falls and Texas the way you should: with dignity and class.  That's the way our coaches are and that's the way our team is," Spuriell says.
