Some Texas Gas Service customers in Jacksboro are expected to have heat tonight but for many others, it will be another cold night without natural gas service in their homes.
Liquid entering the distribution system forced the company to shut off service early Thursday morning but Texas Gas Service crews succeeded in removing water from the system, putting gas back into the line and allowing major gas users like the Faith Community Hospital, the jail, nursing homes and other government facilities to have service slowly restored tonight.
Those commercial facilities did have heat last night too, though because the gas company provided them with compressed natural gas tanks.
Again tonight, many residents will have to find alternative heating methods.
Gas officials say crews will work until around 11 p.m. trying to restore service and then will resume work early Saturday morning.
And, in residential neighborhoods tomorrow, crews will be going door to door to re-light customer's pilot lights.
All natural gas service is expected to be restored by Saturday evening.
