New Attorney for Convicted Killer of Melissa Bost Pursuing an Appeal

"There was no **** evidence and my brother is innocent," was a sister's reaction after her brother, Manuel Daniel, was found guilty in January of killing an Altus mother of 3.

Daniel's new attorney will apparently try prove that by pursuing an appeal.

Notice of appeal was made when Daniel was formally sentenced by a Jackson County judge to the verdict recommended by the jury, life in prison, with the chance of parole.

Daniel was found guilty of the first degree of 49 year old Melissa Bost.

Witnesses and evidence indicated that in February 2012, Daniel and another man killed Bost because they couldn't pay for cocaine she was delivering.

A woman who testified she was in Daniel's home at the time of the murder and said the other man hit Bost with a crowbar and Daniel stabbed her with a knife at least five times.

We contacted the Jackson County District Attorney's office for an update into whether charges have been filed on the other alleged attacker, and so far have not received any new information.
