The second appointed attorney for a Wichita Falls murder defendant has been granted a withdrawal in his client's case.
Reggie Wilson was appointed to represent Jerry Joe Garza after Assistant Public Defender Brennon Brady withdrew his representation citing difficulty communicating with the defendant because of his behavior.
Wilson says he is representing one of the state's potential witnesses in Garza's case in another felony case.
This afternoon in the 78th District Court, Wilson said that's a conflict of interest and one that he can't overcome.
Unlike Garza's first attorney, he said that he had no problem communicating with Garza in the past few weeks.
Assistant District Attorney Dobie Kosub did not object to the withdrawal.
No word yet on when Judge Barney Fudge will appoint a third attorney to represent Garza, who's charged with the Feb. 2011 death of Monica Partida, a Wichita Falls mother of three.
