Before getting behind the wheel in Wichita Falls you want to make sure you are in compliance with a new ordinance.
Starting Tuesday if you're stopped by an officer, or involved in a crash, and cannot present a driver's license or proof of insurance your car will be towed.
Wichita Falls Police Chief, Manuel Borrego addressed the issue this morning at the Wichita Falls City Council meeting.
He says every officer has been extensively trained on the new procedures and the WFPD is doing everything they can to ensure that implementing the new ordinance runs smoothly.
“We will be as lenient with the public as possible, our goal is not to impound vehicle that shouldn't be impounded, we're gonna do what we can to ensure we've met all the avenues before we do an impound,” says Chief Borrego.
To get your car back, you'll have to pay a $25 fee plus the cost of towing.
