New Rewards Offered In Three Texoma Cold Cases

Governor Greg Abbott is teaming up with Texas Crime Stoppers to increase rewards for unsolved murder cases in the state. Three cases are from Texoma.

Crime Stoppers hopes the new $3,000 rewards in the following cases will jar someone's memory or convince someone to come forward with information that will finally bring killers to justice.

BRADLEY GILBERT

On November 10th, 1984, six- year-old Bradley Gilbert was last seen by his aunt in Chillicothe
Four months later, Bradley's decomposed body was found in a slough of the Pease River off Highway 283, north of Vernon.
Authorities believe he has abducted while playing outside.

BILL GILLISPIE

On January 20th,1985, 55-year-old Bill Gillispie was found shot behind an abandoned house on his property in northwest Archer City.

Archer County authorities re-opened the case on the 27th anniversary of Gillispie's murder.

This remains Archer City's only unsolved murder

DERRICK JACKSON & JAMES EDWARDS

In the early morning hours of September 23rd, 1990, 12-year-old Derrick Jackson and 14-year-old James Edwards were found lying in pools of blood inside a Vernon apartment along with their mother, who later survived.

She told police she woke up to a man standing over her, squeezing her jaw, before he opened fire. She said at the time she thought she knew her attacker. He was described as a black male,about 5'8"to 5'10" with a heavy build, but she didn't know his name.

Investigators believe he may have ties to Austin.
