City councilors approved a total of 15 rules at their meeting this morning, but only five of those rules are new. The other ten are current practices that are just being put into writing.
Although the rule book was passed in full, Mayor Glenn Barham says he is open to amending some of the rules that could be made clearer, since some lake residents still have concerns about enforcement.
“The rules and regulations, that they're implying upon us are not part of the law they are just part of the regulations of the lake so the sheriff or the police department really can't enforce them because we're in Clay County, but we live under the rules of Wichita Falls,” says Lake Arrowhead Association Member Rick Byers.
The rules and regulations are effective immediately unless in conflict with a current lease.
