A Nocona man gets a total of 380 years prison by a judge after the jury found him guilty. Michael Steven Coburn received sentences today of 75 years each for 4 counts of continuous aggravated sexual assault of a child under 6, and 20 years each on 4 counts of indecency with a child.
The complaint, filed by Nocona police, says Coburn sexually assaulted the girl multiple times from March to October, 2013. The district attorney asked 97th District Judge Jack McGaughey to stack each sentence, which he did, meaning each must be served before the other begins.
Coburn, however, will get credit for a little over one thousand days jail time off his 380 years. District Attorney Casey Polhemus said it's good to get such stiff sentences for child predators.
Coburn elected to have the judge set punishment. The jury deliberated just over 30 minutes yesterday on his guilt.
The trial was moved from Montague to Clay County on a change of venue.
