OK Gov. Fallin Issues Statewide Burn Ban

A statewide burn ban is now in effect for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin issued that ban this morning.
State officials hope the ban prohibits fires like this one that ate up 10-thousand acres in Indiahoma.
The burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning in Oklahoma's 77 counties, including campfires, bonfires, fireworks, and any outdoor burning.
Officials say you can use charcoal and gas grills, but you must make sure it's five feet from flammable vegetation.
The ban will remain in effect until it's lifted by the governor.
It was recommended by Oklahoma Forestry Service officials, who expect current drought conditions to continue.
