Oklahoma Senator Turns Self in on Charges of Engaging in Child Prostitution

The Oklahoma State Senator charged with engaging in child prostitution has turned himself in.

Ralph Shortey arrived at the Moore police department yesterday afternoon. Earlier prosecutors filed three charges against Shortey after police found the 35-year-old in a hotel room with a 17-year-old boy last week.

The Oklahoma senate voted to punish Shortey, Wednesday, stripping him of access to the capitol. Shortey has not officially commented, but according to a police report, he said he was quote, "just there to hang out with his friend."
